What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
The most surprising part of my Rice MBA experience has been my classmates’ diversity of experiences and perspectives . Coming from a variety of industries, backgrounds, and cultures, my peers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom, making for a dynamic, enriching learning environment. Also, the quality of faculty at Rice Jones has exceeded my expectations. They are not only experts in their fields, but are also approachable, supportive, and invested in student success. The combination of diverse perspectives and excellent faculty has made for a truly transformative and valuable MBA experience.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
My favorite thing about my MBA experience so far has been the learning and recruitment opportunities that the program provides . My classes have expanded my knowledge and skills in various areas of business. And the networking and recruitment events connect me with potential employers and teach me about different industries. But what I appreciate the most is the comradery among my classmates and the support from staff. The sense of community and support from my peers and the MBA staff has made my experience even more valuable. I have formed friendships that will last a lifetime, and I feel well-prepared for my future career thanks to the resources and support provided by the program.
What do you love most about Houston?
I love the city's diverse and delicious food culture. Houston is home to a wide variety of cuisines, from traditional Tex-Mex to authentic Vietnamese, and I have so much fun exploring it . My classmates and I go on food tours, visit local farmers markets, and try out new restaurants and food trucks. It’s been a great way to bond with my classmates and learn more about the city's unique culture. The city's cultural melting pot reflects in its food, which makes it more exciting to try different dishes. Houston also has top-notch restaurants that have been recognized nationally. Basically, Houston is foodie paradise, and I feel grateful to have the opportunity to experience it.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence?
Take advantage of the opportunities and resources that the MBA program offers, both in and outside of the classroom.
